This region has been shaped by human action since the roman times and in 1756 became one of the first regulated and demarcated wine regions in the world by the hand of “Marquês de Pombal” one of the most important figures in the history of Portugal. On the year of 2001, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Aboard a 4×4 vehicle, you will be crossing the mountains through the vines and having a picnic in a place with superb views. Make sure that you take your time to appreciate the twists and turns of this sinuous river and to understand a little better the traditions and rituals of the locals.

During the afternoon you will have the opportunity to do a Port Wine Tasting in a typical Douro “Quinta” and learn a bit more about Port Wine and its qualities.

By going deep inside the vineyards you will be able to feel all the intensity of this magical place, there are no doubts that this is a great way to know the Douro Valley – Unesco World Heritage Site!

What our clients say about us

Joao and Diogo are awesome guides

We were a Group of 9 Friends who, let’s say, did some Port ‘tasting’ the night before, but this was no problem for these guys. They are great fun, super talkative and friendly and made the tour enjoyable for everyone.   They take you across hills full of port wine, prepare an awesome lunch with great views only for you. They tell you interesting facts about wine and the Douro valley and get you a great tasting experience in the local winery. 10 our of 5 stars!

AMAZING VIEWS while off-roading were the highlight of this full day tour. Tiago provided lots of good information to our group.   His command of English was OUTSTANDING and his driving skills were excellent. He had a great sense of humor as well!

Amazing Experience

We went with our family of six people with this company in two 4 x 4’s for a whole day in the valley. They pick us up at the apartment right in time and where very warm people. We had a beautiful day with very good guides, they were very entertaining and well educated about the area.   We had a good lunch at a beautiful spot with a 360 degrees view over the valley. We did several stops at nice point along the route. At the end there was a tour by one of the port houses/winery’s with instruction how everything is working end the backgrounds of the port wine. And the tasting of course.. I can recommended these company highly for one of their tours.

Fantastic way to experience the Douro Valley

Diogo picked us up from our hostel in the morning and immediately made us all feel welcome and comfortable. He was interested in learning about us, where we came from and what our story was, as we embarked on our journey into the Douro Valley.   The weather was not great, but Diogo did not let this spoil the day – he gave us rain jackets and set out a tasty lunch for us in the cover. We tasted some beautiful Port, and learned a lot about the country, the region, the people, the food, the culture, etc. I would highly recommend trying one of these tours if you are in the area, it’s a unique way to explore this beautiful region.
